Never necessarily \u201cgirly\u201d, she gravitated to hairdressing through a fascination with chemistry, biology, and art. She supported herself through high school working at a local salon, then packed up her bags and drove to Hollywood to learn from the best.<\/p><p>Alannah attended Toni &amp; Guy Hairdressing academy in Santa Monica among a graduating class of famous cutters and colorists. She went on to complete apprenticeships under celebrity stylists in Beverly Hills and Hollywood, learning multiple extension methods and becoming an expert in blonding all textures. Still thirsty for adventure, she followed a mentor to Midtown Manhattan to help him build a new salon and assisted him as he hired and trained the entire staff and built the culture from the ground up.<\/p><p>When Midtown left her uninspired, she showed up on the doorstep of an NGO in Cambodia that operated as a high end salon and hairdressing academy for trafficking survivors and at risk youth. She spent two years building the salon and writing an entire curriculum from scratch, developing a method to teach critical thinking through color formulation.\u00a0<\/p><p>After returning to New York, Alannah wanted to elevate her craft even further and spent a year assisting some of the best freehand painting (balayage) artists in the industry and coloring wigs for runways and fashion editorials. But it was the last four years working as a colorist at a busy top salon where she found her own artistic voice and developed a cult following.<\/p><p>\u00a0Alannah has worked for over a decade to nurture her visual approach and provide it with just enough structure to achieve work that is both beautiful and interesting. Her strengths are not only versatile technical skill, but the ability to use compassion to create a \u201cvibe\u201d harmonious with each individual client.
